In moments of fear, we are presented with the opportunity to discover what trust truly looks like. Whether faced with unexpected tragedy or placed suddenly on the spot, we reveal what lives deep within us. Will we respond with prayer or panic?

I am reminded of a simple, sincere prayer spoken by a young believer when her mother was rushed to the hospital: “Father, please don’t take my mommy.” God answered with healing and with a quiet lesson in childlike faith. Faith the size of a mustard seed planted a deep, abiding trust within her heart which will last a lifetime.

A simple prayer whispered in faith goes a long way.

Where in your life is God asking you to come to Him like a child?

Prayer

Father, help me trust You with all my heart and come to you like a child. When I cannot see the outcome, remind me that You are still ordering my steps. Teach me to rest in Your timing and believe that You are always working for good, just like a good Father.
